Day 2: "I gave you my support; don't let me down"

As momentous as the first day of Early Voting was, the buzz growing around my campaign continued on Wednesday as more and more of you came out to all three polling locations to show your support and make it clear that the tired and outdated approach of the incumbent needs to go.

Members of my staff and I were at the Champions Life Centre for the second consecutive day and there was one gentleman who after voting, walked by our tent, approached me and as we went to shake hands, the man, probably in his early fifties, told me, “I gave you my support, don’t let me down.”

That’s the kind of love, support, and encouragement that has fueled me throughout this campaign and tells me that we’re on the right track, and no one will be let down.

Another voter, a female who has spent more than 20 years as a registered nurse, told my staff after voting that she never changes her mind in the voting booth, but because of my friendships in the community, people she knew and trusted for years, she voted for Tony Noun instead of the incumbent.

I’ve told you for the last year, District 150 deserves better. 12 years of mediocrity is enough, and as evidenced by her campaign and lack of any real campaign message other than racists taunts, “trash-talking” accusations and endorsements from her friends, the incumbent has run her campaign like she’s represented you in Austin over the last few sessions – ineffectively and lazy.

Not to mention – in light of conservative blogger David Jennings posting my thoughts from Day One of Early Voting on his blog bigjollypolitics.com – the District is still waiting for its acting State Representative to respond to Mr. Jennings about the racist comments she made. Despite requests from both Mr. Jennings and my staff, YOUR current state rep has not denied making those inexcusable remarks.

We Deserve Better. You Deserve Better.

Meanwhile, we continue to run on a message of accountability, getting the entire District involved, bringing down property crime, revamping the business scene and getting property value headed north rather than south.

We can and will do that, and I’m asking you that haven’t voted and those of you that have – to spread the word, get on out and vote for Tony Noun and let’s bring some energy and life back to the Best District in Texas.

We Deserve Better. You Deserve Better.

Respectfully,

Tony Noun
